How these Books Were Selected

The book recommendations above were selected with a couple of factors in mind. First, the book has to provide tremendous value to you. Books that fall into this category are the ones that you crave to finish within one session.

It’s also important who wrote the book. After all, you wouldn’t take investment advice from someone without skin in the game, right? Preferably the writer has expertise in their field or at least studied it for several years.

The final factor is how the book holds over time and what reviews it gets. Though these book recommendations are my personal opinion, I still want to ensure the books provide the most value to you too.

The Best Books are Great Mentors in Life

It’s no secret that with the right guidance, you get to your destination faster. Many people vouch for having many mentors and coaches in your life. But how can you get access to the right ones?

Books are one of the best ways to get access to the very best in any field. Though not as effective as having a personal coach, it still helps you a long way. Besides, books are a more affordable option. That’s why books are my favorite way of gaining knowledge.

Besides, buying books yourself gives you many advantages. One of the best ways to retain the information is to read the books a couple of times.

The Best Method for Retaining Knowledge

Not a lot of people get most of the value from the books they read. Why? Simply because they read it, feel inspired for a couple of days, and then forget about what they read.

If you want new knowledge to make a practical difference in your life, you’ve to find a way to retain the information. Here’s a very simple way to do that:

  1. First, I read the book cover to cover and highlight the best ideas.
  2. A week after finishing the book, I’ll skim the important sections again and take notes.
  3. A week after that, I’ll review the notes and skim through the book.
  4. A month later, I’ll repeat the process of step 3.
  5. A couple of months later, I’ll repeat that process.
  6. How often I review the book after this cycle, depends on the value of the book and its relevance to the situation of my life.

Reviewing a book often is the key to retain information. And retaining information is the first step to becoming more aware. And awareness ultimately leads to positive changes in your life.

If you’re still reading this, scroll back up and grab one of the books recommended. If you’re new to this, pick a top 3 and read these a couple of times in the next few months. It’s one of the best decisions that you can make this year.
